ABOUT

AMANDA HALLER (née White)

Running Coach, Founder

Amanda is a lifelong runner who wants to share her passion and knowledge of the sport.  Since her start in 2016, she has over 7 years of coaching experience in cross country and track and field, four of which have been at the collegiate level.  During her career as a collegiate coach, she has taken indivudual athletes and a women's D3 cross country team to the NCAA D3 National Championships.

Amanda's coaching philosophy is centered on a holistic approach, taking into account mental and emotional health as well as physical.  She understands that the mind affects performace and needs as much training and care as the body in order to be successful.  When creating and managing training plans, she takes a deeper look at her athletes' lifestyle.  In additon to standard physical factors such as paces, heart rate and personal bests, she also takes into account things like the amount of daily stress they are exposed to and the hours of sleep they get, in order to make a program uniquely tailored to that individual.  Throughout their training plans, athletes are encouraged to regularly log their mental/emotional states along with their mileage and paces.  This practice increases self awareness and gives a more complete picture regarding what additional factors may be affecting performance and where adjustments can be made.

Amanda is especially devoted to teaching female runners about their body's unique needs when it comes to training and fueling.  She strives to empower women with the knowledge of how their physiological requirements differ from those of male runners, and how they can safely train for their event in a way that maximizes their potential.  Through education, she hopes to keep female athletes from being misguided by outdated (but stilll prevelent) coaching practices and information that are detrimental to their health and progress.

Amanda's personal achievements include a personal best time of 2:10.38 in the 800m, being a two time NCAA D3 National Championship competitor in the 800 meters, medaling in the 800 meters at the 2015 USATF National Club Track & Field Championships, as well as running a Boston Marathon qualifying time in her first ever marathon attempt.  Through her personal and professional journey she has gained a unique insight into the world of running and now endeavors to pass this knowledge along in the hopes that it will guide others to their own successes.
